Job Description: Plan and implement multi-modal and place-based learning instruction for Grades 6-8 Math curriculum and Grade 6-9 Career Education and chapel. Instructional requirements will involve planning for place-based learning each week. This position will also include grades 6-9 numeracy intervention as a Resource Teacher. Responsibilities will also include creating individualized learning update comments, hosting parent-teacher conferences, tracking homework, leading devotions and praying with students. They will also be required to participate in school functions such as Pro-D days and awards nights.
A successful candidate will:
- Possess or be in the process of attaining a British Columbia Professional Teaching Certificate.
- Be eligible to work in British Columbia.
- Be willing to receive guidance from a mentor.
- Be proficient in using educational technology to promote and support learning.
- Know effective strategies for and be familiar with UDL and place-based learning.
- Candidates should be interested in including learning opportunities outside the classroom on the school grounds or off-site.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills with students, staff and parents.
- Have strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Communicate a biblical worldview throughout all subjects.
