POSITION: English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher
APPOINTMENT: 1.0 FTE Temporary (0.2 FTE School District & 0.8 FTE Oliver Elementary School)
DURATION: January 23 to mid-March or return of incumbent not to exceed June 30, 2026
Qualifications Required:
- education degree plus English Language Learner specialization (3 upper-level courses including ELL methodologies) including a university course in Level B assessments, theory and practice;
- recent successful classroom teaching experience in adapting curriculum;
- ability to carry out norm-referenced assessments level B;
- lead in the development, implementation and evaluation of Annual Instruction Plans in consultation with team members;
- ability to model, teach and foster social, emotional and cultural awareness;
- knowledge of current 21st century pedagogy and assessment practices;
- demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to the professional community at the school and district level;
- effective communication, interpersonal, organizational and classroom management skills;
- ability to integrate technologies and digital citizenship into educational programs; and
- BC Professional Teaching Certificate and current eligibility for Teacher Qualification Service card.
