The BC Muslim School is looking for an experienced bus driver, holding Class 2 or Class 1 Driving License to join the schools' transportations team.

Job Types

Job types: Part-time and Permanent

Contract length: 6 months with renewable option

Part-time: 5 hours per day (Monday to Friday)

Salary: $30 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Being attentive to traffic and weather conditions and ensuring passenger safety

• Following the planned route and schedule for departure times and stops

• Regularly checking vehicle safety such as tires, brakes, turn signals and mechanical equipment

• Keep the bus clean

• Transport children and other passengers to and from school

• Obey all traffic laws to ensure students arrive at their destination safely

• Always maintain a clean bus

• Ensure the safety of all students when entering and leaving the bus

• Assist students with getting on and off the bus as needed

• Engage with students as they enter and leave the bus

• Call parents to let them know the pickup and drop off times

Requirements:

• Valid Class (1 or 2) driver's license

• 5-year driver's abstract records.

• Minimum of one-year commercial driving experience (similar to a school bus driving role is preferred).

• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations within the last five years.

• Ability to carry out assigned route on time

Successful candidate needs to complete the criminal record clearance requirements
