POSITION: Okanagan Language Teacher
APPOINTMENT: 0.286 FTE Temporary (1 Block Semester 1)
DURATION: September 1, 2026 to February 1, 2027
Qualifications Required:
- First Nations Language Teacher Certification in Okanagan Language (as recognized by the BC Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB)). Uncertified language teacher applications may be considered with a commitment to complete the TRB Letter of Permission;
- recent experience teaching Okanagan language;
- proficient in speaking and writing in Okanagan and English:
- ability to model, teach and foster social, emotional and cultural awareness;
- knowledge of current 21st century pedagogy and assessment practices;
- demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to the professional community at the school and district level;
- effective communication, interpersonal, organizational and classroom management skills;
- ability to integrate technologies and digital citizenship into educational programs.

Teacher Pay is based on years of experience and TQS category (link July 2025 Salary Grid ).
