Early Childhood Educator (ECE or ECEA) - Part Time/Casual
Centre Operating Hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm
Salary: $24–$25/hour
Start Date: Immediate
We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educators (ECE or ECEA) to provide on call coverage, with a short-term opportunity available for consistent coverage on Mondays and Tuesdays throughout July. This position offers an immediate opportunity to join our collaborative, internationally minded team and support our early learners in a warm and engaging environment.
While this is initially a casual/on-call role, there is potential for continued employment as our program grows and as we explore the addition of a second classroom in the near future.

Unisus Early Childhood Learning Centre, located on our beautiful 17-acre campus in Summerland, BC, offers an inquiry and play-based Early Years Program for children aged 3–5. As part of our International Baccalaureate (IB) School, our philosophy celebrates children as naturally resourceful, imaginative, and inquisitive learners who thrive in a natural outdoor setting.
Responsibilities
- Support and help implement a child-led, inquiry-based IB curriculum that meets the physical, intellectual, social, creative, and emotional needs of children.
- Engage children in both indoor and outdoor learning opportunities in all seasons.
- Collaborate with the teaching team to maintain a safe, organized, and inspiring learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and administration to support each child’s learning and growth.
- Maintain documentation of children’s learning and progress for reporting purposes.
Qualifications
- Valid BC Early Childhood Educator or Early Childhood Educator Assistant Certificate (ECE or ECEA).
- Previous ECE teaching experience preferred.
- Current First Aid certification.
- Clear Criminal Record Check.
- Familiarity with the BC Early Learning Framework and/or Reggio-inspired practices is an asset.
- Collaborative spirit, flexibility, and enthusiasm for outdoor learning.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada (visa sponsorship not available).
