The assignment will be effective immediately and will end on June 30, 2027.
The District School Psychologist is primarily responsible for conducting psycho-educational assessments and providing consultation services. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of current, effective assessment methods as well as best practice in academic intervention.
Scope of Position:
- Conduct psycho-educational assessments for students from K-12
- Provide consultation service to teachers and parents regarding students with a wide variety of issues including learning disabilities, behavioural challenges and cognitive impairments
- Provide assistance in the 1701 process of identification of students in inclusive education categories
- Provide guidance to resource teachers regarding the use of Level B assessment tools
- Conducting assessment for the purpose of adjudication for Provincial examinations
- Other duties as assigned
R equired Qualifications:
- Minimum of Masters Degree in School Psychology or equivalent
- Eligible for membership in the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch
- Eligible for membership in the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC)
- Ability to work independently and efficiently to complete psycho-educational assessments
- Excellent knowledge of assessment methods for formally evaluating cognitive, academic, behavioral and emotional functioning for elementary, middle and secondary students
- Ability to collaborate with district and school staff to plan intervention programs for students with a variety of learning needs
- Knowledge of audit compliance criteria for inclusive education categories
- Excellent communication skills
Compensation:
Salary as per Teachers' Collective Agreement. Current salary range is $59,724.00 to $110,833.00 annually plus comprehensive benefits package.
