Join Our Team at Whytecliff Agile Learning Centres
Are you an English, Socials, or Humanities teacher who wants to help students reconnect with learning — and help shape more than one subject area?
Whytecliff Agile Learning Centres in Langley, BC is looking for a Lead Humanities Teacher to join our team. The role has a strong English and Social Studies focus, but we are especially interested in a fully certified teacher who can teach across multiple subject areas and help build engaging, cross-curricular learning experiences across the program.
This is a good fit for a teacher who loves language, stories, history, ideas, current events, writing, discussion, and real-world questions — and who can turn those into projects that help students think, create, collaborate, and feel proud of their work.
We are especially interested in someone with leadership experience or leadership potential: a teacher who can help coordinate projects, support curriculum planning, organize learning experiences, work closely with colleagues, and turn good ideas into strong student experiences.
A Little About Us
Whytecliff is unique. We are a BC Ministry of Education accredited independent school and a CARF-accredited therapeutic Positive Youth Development program.
At our Langley campus, we work with a small group of 45-55 students in grades 8–12. Many of our students have struggled in traditional school settings and arrive with diverse learning needs, social-emotional challenges, anxiety, ADHD, ASD, dyslexia, school avoidance, low confidence, or a history of feeling that school has not worked for them.
That is why teaching here is different. We are not just trying to cover curriculum. We are helping students experience school as a place where they can belong, build skills, ask better questions, find their voice, and see themselves as capable learners.
We blend academics with Positive Youth Development, outdoor education, project-based learning, mental wellness, social-emotional growth, and real-world skill building. We are small enough to know students well, flexible enough to build around strengths and interests, and structured enough to help students grow.
