Necessary Qualifications:

• possession of a valid B.C. Teaching Certificate;

• university training, or its equivalent, relevant to the posted position; and,

• successful teaching experience relevant to the posted position.

Coordinator – K-12 Instructional Leadership Team - Literacy and UDL 

0.40 F.T.E. Term, September 8, 2026, to June 30, 2027 

DISTRICT  

The successful candidate must:

  • demonstrate a high degree of knowledge of and understanding of personalized learning, UDL, and Assessment practices and K-12 Literacy;
  • demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with Indigenous rights holders and implement Indigenous pedagogy through Indigenous ways of knowing and being;
  • have experience as a teacher leader/mentor;
  • demonstrate a high degree of knowledge of, and understanding of K-9 Curriculum;
  • have at least 5 years teaching experience;
  • have proven skills in teaching grades K-12;
  • possess a BC Driver’s license and be able to travel to all communities in the district. 

Reporting to the Director of Instruction, Curriculum & Assessment, the candidate will be a member of the Instructional Leadership team and the primary objectives will be to: 

  • lead classroom teachers in the areas of designing Literacy professional learning and support through a lens of Universal Design;
  • coordinate and organize district wide events and opportunities for authentic student learning;
  • support the primacy of the classroom environment and increase the capacity to support all learners in the classroom;
  • develop a school-based model for Tier One and Tier Two Intervention in partnership with Learning Services;
  • coordinate and organize district professional learning opportunities;
  • contribute to the development and implementation of the K to 12 Assessment Plan;
  • liaise with the district Itinerant support team; and,
  • support the implementation of the Sea to Sky school new strategic plan.

Salary range: $60,015 per year to $109,520 per year, based on category as assigned by the Teachers Qualification Service (TQS) and previous teaching experience.
