The Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese (the CISVA) operates 46 schools – 40 elementary and 6 high schools. JOB DESCRIPTION
Cloverdale Catholic School (CISVA) is seeking a dynamic, faith-filled, and highly organized Grade 7 Teacher to join our collaborative intermediate team.
Grade 7 is a pivotal leadership and sacramental year in our school community. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about Catholic education, committed to excellence in instruction, and prepared to mentor students as they prepare for high school and the Sacrament of Confirmation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Valid BC Teaching Certificate
- Familiarity with and experience implementing the BC Curriculum, particularly at the intermediate level
- Preference given to candidates with experience teaching Grades 6–8
- Practicing Catholic with a strong commitment to the mission of Catholic education
- Must be approved by CISVA prior to applying
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and deliver engaging, rigorous instruction aligned with BC Curriculum standards
- Prepare students for and support the Sacrament of Confirmation in collaboration with parish and school administration
- Lead and coordinate key Grade 7 events, including:
- Grade 7 Camp
- Confirmation preparation activities
- Grade 7 Farewell celebration
- Foster a positive, structured classroom environment with strong classroom management
- Build meaningful relationships with intermediate students, demonstrating empathy, consistency, and high expectations
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff
- Participate actively in staff collaboration and school initiatives
- Contribute to extracurricular life of the school (athletics experience preferred)
