We invite applications for the  position of:

Health & Safety Occupational Claims and Appeals Coordinator 


Under the supervision of the Health & Safety Manager – WorkSafe Injury Management this position:

  • Provides effective Disability Case Management of Occupational illness/injury claims in accordance with WorkSafeBC;
  • Communicates with key stakeholders to facilitate the safe and timely return to work for ill/injured employees;
  • Assesses Monthly Claims Cost reports for accuracy;
  • Maintains online statistical database for several School Districts;
  • Researches then prepares submissions for WorkSafeBC Review Division and WCAT Appeals. 


 The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Completed Grade 12 and (2) two years Post-Secondary Education;
  • Minimum of (3) years previous experience, including one (1) year on the job with WorkSafe BC, short-term disability or long-term disability processes;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook);
  • Net typing speed of fifty (50) words per minute.


The successful applicant will be expected to:

·          Maintain a high quality of work including accuracy and dependability;

·          Possess good organizational and analytical skills;

·          Maintain a professional approach during pressure situations such as high workload volume or calls of an emotionally charged nature;

·          Successfully complete the District's clerical assessment;

·          Complete the required District's Health and Safety training. 


This is a permanent full-time position starting as soon as possible working 35 hours per week at a wage rate of $35.01 per hour plus a comprehensive employee benefit package including extended health and dental coverage, short-term and long-term disability insurance and participation in a defined benefit pension plan.
