About the Role

St. Catherine’s Elementary is seeking a faith filled, dedicated, and compassionate Certified Educational Assistant to support student learning and well-being in an inclusive environment. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to assist students with diverse learning needs.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students academically, socially, and emotionally
• Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Support classroom instruction under the direction of the teacher
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
• Assist students with personal care needs when required
• Supervise students during class, recess, lunch, and school activities
• Use positive behavior support strategies
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and administration

Qualifications

• Certification as an Educational Assistant (or equivalent recognized credential)
• Experience working with children, particularly those with diverse learning needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to student success
• First Aid/CPR certification (preferred or required)
• Criminal Record Check (required)
