We serve 2,825 students in our standard schools and an additional 900 FTEs at EBUS Academy, one of the largest online schools in British Columbia. The Community
Vanderhoof, British Columbia, located in the scenic Nechako Valley near the geographic centre of the province, is a welcoming community of approximately 4,500 residents that serves as a regional hub for surrounding areas. Known for its strong sense of community and affordable small-town lifestyle, Vanderhoof offers essential services in education, healthcare, and retail, with additional amenities available in Prince George just one hour away. The local economy is rooted in forestry and agriculture, complemented by employment opportunities in public services and education. The School:
Nechako Valley Secondary is the largest school in the district, serving about 580 students in Grades 7–12 and employing more than 60 staff, including over 30 teachers. It is supported by an active community and Parent Advisory Council that contribute to student learning and well-being.
The Position:
The successful candidate will be a student-focused and community-minded leader who values connection, visibility, and hands-on involvement in daily school life. The position will work as part of the existing administration and staff team to support learning for all members of the program and broader school community. While the focus of this position will be leadership within the myNVSS program, other duties will be expected across all areas of the school. The exempt position will include approximately 50% teaching duties.
They understand the unique strengths and challenges of a small rural school and lead with flexibility, care, and practical problem-solving. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as the role requires regular collaboration with families and the broader community.

Qualifications and Abilities:
The salary range for this position is determined by the BC Public Service Employer Association (BCPSEA). Placement on the salary range is dependent on qualifications and experience.
