Speech and Language Pathologists work in several schools in the district to provide evaluation and remediation of a range of communicative difficulties in school populations (Kindergarten to Grade 12). As a member of a School Based Team, the Speech and Language Pathologist will be required to work collaboratively and to provide consultative support to teachers, support staff and families. This position requires travel to various school sites. Applicants must be a member of the College of Health and Care Professionals of B.C .


Qualifications:

  • Post graduate degree in Speech Language Pathology, as well as eligibility for certification with the Canadian Association for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills ; demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload.

  • Broad knowledge of evidence-based practice, familiarity and comfort with paper-based and digital communication strategies and tools.

  • General knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication strategies and interventions.

  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge working with school aged children.

  • Demonstrated skills in collaborating and working with school-based professionals, ability to develop and deliver presentations or training , ability to provide effective consultation.
