Principal – Spencer Middle School

Spencer Middle School is one of the district's five Middle schools and is located on Coast Salish land in Langford and serves approximately 680 students. Our Middle School leaders are responsible for ensuring instruction is active, purposeful, and reflective of student voice and fosters a school community that is inclusive, safe, and welcoming. • Master's Degree in Educational Leadership or related area
• Bachelor's Degree in Education
• Valid BC teaching certificate or eligibility for certification
• Minimum of three (3) years of recent and exemplary service as a principal/vice principal, in grades 6-8 demonstrating knowledge and understanding of the unique needs and characteristics of students at the middle school level
• Experience leading programs and initiatives at the school and/or district level
• Experience in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Experience incorporating Indigenous education into learning activities for all students
• Experience leading in a unionized public-school setting using the BC curriculum preferred
