JOB DESCRIPTION

St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Secondary School is seeking a full-time Senior Science Teacher to join our staff. The successful candidate will primarily teach Science, Life Science, and Earth Science and will become part of a collaborative, faith-filled school community committed to excellence in Catholic education.

The ideal candidate will:

• demonstrate a commitment to the mission and identity of Catholic education
• have experience or interest in teaching junior secondary science
• create a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment
• use a variety of instructional and assessment practices to support student learning
• work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school staff
• contribute to the broader co-curricular life of the school

Qualifications:

• valid BC teaching certification or eligibility for certification
• undergraduate degree with appropriate teaching qualifications
• strong knowledge of the BC curriculum
• commitment to supporting the faith life of the school

On an on-going basis, we accept teacher applications for grade levels K to 12 for our Catholic schools throughout the Greater Vancouver Area and Powell River in beautiful British Columbia. All Catholics, non-Catholics, new education grads, and experienced teachers from across Canada are strongly encouraged to apply. Our major hiring season is in April for the following school year, but we recommend that you apply now as we receive an influx of applications.
