The Mission Public School District is located on the traditional, ancestral, unsurrendered, and shared territories of Stó:lo people, of Leq'á:mel, Semá:th, Máthxwi, Sq'éwlets and Qwó:ltl'el First Nations, stewards of this land since time immemorial.
Halq'eméylem is the language of this land and of Stó:lo ancestors. The place from where Halqeméylem (Upriver dialect) originates is Leqá:mel. The language comes from the land, and it has been this way since time immemorial.
We invite applications for the position of:
School: Student Services Department
Position: Speech and Language Pathologist
FTE: .80 (4 days per week)
Grade: All
Status: Temporary
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: 4 days per week
Please note there is flexibility in the workdays, and they may be changed in consultation with the Director and the Human Resources Department.
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology
- Applicant must be registered with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHHPBC)
- Minimum 2 years experience working in the field is preferred
- Must be eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Speech Language Pathologist and Audiologists (CASLPA) and/or British Columbia Association of Speech Language Pathologist and Audiologist ( BCASLPA)
- Recent successful experience working with school-aged students and students with special needs (low incidence)
Job duties:
- Comprehensive diagnostic and direct therapy to school-aged children with a variety of communication disorders
- Act as a resource for teachers, educational assistants and parents

The starting annual salary for this position ranges from $57,972-$106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service, FTE and qualifications in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
