Indigenous Family Support Navigator
School District #46 has a unique opportunity for the position of Indigenous Family Support Navigator. This 30 hour/week position will work under the direction and support of the District Principal of Indigenous Learning to provide specialized and therapeutic support to families. The main focus of the position is connecting students and families to support, opportunities for engagement, and community resources through the Indigenous Education Support and Student Success programming.
The successful applicant must identify as First Nations and have a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Social Work. Experience working in Indigenous community advocacy and outreach, as well as experience working with people with intergenerational trauma and/or neurodevelopmental conditions and/or health/mental health challenges and/or addictions, is required.

The position is included in Local 801 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees, and includes a comprehensive benefits package after completion of a 3 month probationary period.
