Facilities Planner/Technologist

Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools is seeking a skilled and motivated Facilities Planner to join our Facilities and Operations team. This position plays a key role in ensuring our schools and support facilities provide safe, efficient, and inspiring environments for students and staff.

The Facilities Planner will support the development of long-range facility plans, coordinate capital improvement projects, and collaborate with district leaders, architects, engineers, and community partners to align facility planning with the district’s educational goals.

We are looking for a professional who brings expertise in facilities planning, construction, or project management—someone who values collaboration, attention to detail, and a commitment to creating high-quality learning spaces.

Your Education and Experience 

  • High school graduation or the equivalent
  • Graduation from an ASTTBC accredited diploma program in a related technology, with and five years related experience,
  • Minimum (3) years experience in project management or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Eligible for registration with ASTTBC as a certified technologist
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • A thorough knowledge of MS Office products, and understanding of operating systems, networking and GIS software
  • Thorough and current working knowledge of computer-assisted drawing programs
  • Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Working knowledge of the trades as applicable to the duties of this position

Assignment: 40 hours per week, Monday thru Friday, onsite 

Wage:  $40.23 per hour.   This position includes a comprehensive benefits and pension package
