We invite applications for the position of:

Software Support / Applications Trainer

Under the supervision of the Director of the Learning Technology Department, the Software Support and Applications Trainer will deliver training to end users in School District No. 23 on how to use various types of software programs efficiently and effectively in support of district goals and objectives. This individual is responsible for designing, delivering, and improving in-house software applications training programs and related courseware.


   The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • completed grade 12 and six (6) month post-secondary program related to computer technology technical training and/or experience in maintaining and configuring library automation/delivery systems and online web-based services;
  • two (2) years' previous related experience;
  • net typing speed of fifty (50) words per minute;
  • experience training adults in online and classroom environments using a variety of applications and digital tools such as Zoom, Teams and Learning Management Systems
  • in-depth, hands-on knowledge of enterprise and desktop applications, including MS Office Suite and SharePoint/Outlook;
  • excellent communication skills and professional attitude, and ability to develop new skills while working independently.


  The successful applicant will be expected to:

  • engage in training and successfully complete MyEd BC-Level 1, 2 and 3 training;
  • develop excellent working knowledge and experience with Ministry K-12 student data collection processes (1701, TRAX, SADE, etc.);
  • demonstrate leadership characteristics, with ability to motivate, inspire, and resolve conflict in an effective manner;
  • possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with strong customer service orientation;
  • problem solve and troubleshoot technical problems over the phone using collaborative tools;
  • work as part of a team and be self-motivated and self-directed;
  • stay current with the most recent knowledge and technology in regard to MyEdBC, SharePoint, Insignia, and Microsoft Office;
  • assist the Learning Technology Integrated Services Team with training on major training initiatives in the District;
  • complete the required District's Health and Safety training.


This is a temporary full-time position starting as soon as possible until at least April 30, 2025, with possible extension, working 35 hours per week at a wage rate of $30.89 per hour.

Temporary employees earn 5% of straight time earning in each pay period in lieu of statutory holidays and 5% of bi-weekly earnings in lieu of vacation.

Once a temporary employee gain seniority (after 120 days of work), 10% in lieu of benefits and paid leaves is provided each pay period.
