We invite applications for the temporary position of:

Technician - Hardware/Software

Under the general supervision of the Manager of Learning and Business Technology and the Learning Technology Services Data Coordinator, the Technician - Hardware/Software is responsible for maintaining computer networks, configuring and maintaining computers including servers, workstations, laptops and tablet hardware such as Chromebooks and iPads, training staff and providing software support.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or five (5) years equivalent work experience;
  • Technical Certificates or equivalent Microsoft technology training;
  • Comprehensive understanding of current Windows operating systems;
  • Experience in troubleshooting, repairing and maintenance of micro-computers, including Chromebooks and related peripheral equipment;
  • A comprehensive working knowledge of educational and administrative software, including cloud based Apps (GSuite, O365 etc..) and the ability to troubleshoot from a technical and practical point of view;
  • Experience in the use of imaging software and techniques;
  • Training and/or experience with enterprise networks and Wi-Fi technologies.

  • Deliver a high level of customer service;
  • Complete the required District's Health and Safety training.

This is a temporary full-time position starting as soon as possible until January 31, 2027 with the possibility of being extended, working 40 hours per week at a wage rate of $39.46 per hour

Temporary employees receive an additional 5% in lieu of vacation pay and 5% in lieu of statutory holiday pay. Once seniority has been established, temporary employees also receive an additional 10% in lieu of benefits and paid leave.
