VICE PRINCIPAL – ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY

The West Vancouver Board of Education is seeking dynamic leaders in education to embrace and enhance our vision of aspiring to provide the finest educational experience in the country – for the benefit of our children, our employees, our community, and our world. We have close to 7,000 students in our 18 schools, encompassing the District of West Vancouver, the Squamish Nation, the Village of Lions Bay, and Bowen Island. West Vancouver lies along a beautiful waterfront bounded by ski hills and hiking trails to the North, the Capilano watershed and river canyon to the East and Howe Sound and Burrard Inlet to the West and South.

We will use this process to fill two positions and create a pool for Elementary and Secondary Vice Principal openings, if vacancies occur between now and June of 2027.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to collaborative leadership, instructional excellence, and positive relationships with students, staff, families, and the broader community. The successful applicant must also demonstrate excellence in the following requirements:

• Leadership experience in promoting curriculum and change initiatives.
• Current, relevant experience as a vice principal or other leadership position.
• Experience creating innovative practices in an inquiry-based teaching and learning environment.
• Sound knowledge of the application of technology in education.
• Exceptional interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
• Creative and inclusive problem-solving approaches.
• Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with students, employees, parents and the community.
• Strong collaboration with various stakeholders and community groups.
• Leadership and motivation of a diverse team of individuals.
• Exceptional teaching experience, skills and experience.
• French language skills are preferred.
• Certificate of Qualification from the Teachers Regulation Branch.
• Master's degree or enrollment in a Master's program in an appropriate educational field.

The salary range for the position of Elementary Vice Principal is $138,076 to $145,892 and Secondary Vice Principal is $145,892 to $153,709.
