Applications are invited for the following position as detailed below: DESCRIPTION: CASUAL BUS DRIVERS

LOCATION: School District 78 (Fraser-Cascade)

Harrison Hot Springs, Agassiz, Hope, Boston Bar

HOURLY RATE: $ 29.24

Summary:

Under the direction and supervision of the Transportation Supervisor, operates a school bus and supervises passengers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operates vehicle and ensures safety.
• Transports students and/or school personnel to/from schools and on local, out-of-town and overnight field trips.
• Directs and monitors all students to ensure compliance with safe loading, riding and unloading procedures.
• Supervises and monitors the conduct and behaviour of students and reports any misconduct in accordance with school board policy.
• Performs first aid and communicates appropriate information to school administration and transportation staff.
• Conducts pre-and post-trip inspections of bus in accordance with transportation guidelines and legislation and reports defects.
• Performs minor emergency repairs.
• Ensures interior and exterior cleanliness and regularly fuels bus.
• Secures bus at the end of each day.
• Monitors two-way radio.
• To maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information seen or heard.
• All employee conduct must be in compliance with school district policies and provincial legislation.

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Annual medical clearance
• Two years of professional driving experience in buses or large vehicles
• Class 2 driver's licence with air brake endorsement, and driver's abstract
• Level One First Aid
• Up to date Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
