THE OPPORTUNITY: FLOOR LAYER
The Maintenance & Construction Division
carries out many preventive maintenance projects, including repair and large
“overhaul” projects on school facilities to protect the infrastructure and to
meet code requirements. These are scheduled on a pre-planned basis and schools
are not required to request such work. Preventive maintenance includes
re-roofing, re-painting, mechanical or electrical upgrade projects, annual fire
alarm testing, and a periodic safety check on equipment in buildings and on
grounds.
This position may be assigned to any VSB worksite under the
auspices of Maintenance & Construction. Employees may be required to move
from site to site during the workday. The successful candidate will be
required to work with minimal direct supervision in a team environment and
maintain collegial working relationships. Staff are required to communicate
with school principals, school staff and students to ensure minimal disruption
to the learning environment. All employees are required to work safely in
accordance with WorkSafe B.C. guidelines.

COMPENSATION
The salary for this position is $70,746.00 plus a comprehensive benefits
package and Municipal Pension Plan.
