Job Summary:

Switzmalph Child Care Centre is seeking energetic and qualified full time Early Childhood Educators to work at our center. Positions available are for infant/toddler, preschool, and 3-5-year-old daycare programs. Early Childhood Educators will provide quality and inclusive programming in a group setting supporting children and families.

Experience:

• Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities and experiences.
• Knowledge and understanding of cross-cultural issues that impact the Secwepemc First Nation community.
• Knowledge of the Community Care and Assisted living Act and Child Care Licensing Regulations.
• Demonstrating understanding of the development of children and their mental, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs.
• Demonstrating an understanding of inclusivity of children with special needs.
• Encouraging children’s learning and positive development of their self-concept.
• Appropriately guiding and supervising children in various settings.
• Supervising children’s indoor and outdoor activities ensuring required safety standards according to licensing are met.
• Possessing excellent written and oral skills as well as interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain healthy collaborative working relationships with members of staff, community, and other representatives from various organizations.

Education & Qualifications

• Demonstrated ongoing commitment to attend professional development courses annually
• Completion of an early childhood education certificate program
• Must have current first aid and food safe certificates
• Valid BC ECE certificate will be an asset.
• Clear criminal record check.

4. Ability to obtain a doctor’s certificate ensuring health is adequate for position
