POPARD is a British Columbia Ministry of Education Program, housed within Delta School District, with office space located Ladner, BC. Education and Behaviour Consultants assigned to the Provincial Outreach Program will be responsible for supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorders registered in school districts or independent schools throughout the Province of BC by providing consultation and capacity building services. A range of POPARD training courses may be provided either at the POPARD office in Ladner, or in any of the school districts or independent schools within the province of British Columbia. Creation of resources and online learning as well as an array of special projects supplement the services provided by POPARD.
Typical assignments include approximately 10 weeks of travel around beautiful British Columbia, along with local districts and ample time to work on office projects.

Qualifications:

  • BC Teacher Certification or eligibility or
  • Certification as an allied professional recognized by the Delta School District (e.g., speech and language pathologist, school psychologist, registered psychologist, board certified behavior analyst)
  • Master’s degree in special education, Speech/Language Pathology, School Psychology, or Behavior Analysis
  • Advanced coursework and demonstrated knowledge of students with autism spectrum disorder and educational/school-based supports
  • Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Experience working with children and youth with Autism or other special need
  • Experience as a consultant in the K-12 school system
  • Experience with course and workshop development or adult education

Salary is based on education and years of experience, ranging from $62,445 - $109,520  per year.
