Canyon Lister Elementary School has a vacancy for a 1.0 FTE Term Primary Teacher for the 2023/2024 school year.
The awarded applicant will have recent demonstrated successful experience experience in multi-aged classrooms.
The awarded applicant will be innovative, creative, team worker, self motivated and demonstrate understanding of the BC Curriculum and the district directions. They will be a person who is continually striving to improve pedagogy in a changing educational environment.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Education (Elementary).
• A valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch.
• Recently demonstrated successful experience working at the Elementary level
Teachers applying for this position will preferably possess the following attributes:
Demonstrated ability to deliver an educational program in a multi-graded environment.
• Recent, demonstrated successful experience in an elementary/intermediate setting
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues to deliver a full educational program.
• Excellent classroom management skills;
• Knowledge of current instructional practices and curriculum
Strong understanding of literacy approaches and an ability to differentiate instruction to various levels
• Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work with a learning support teacher to implement inclusion practices for students with diverse needs.
• A willingness to work closely with parents;
• Excellent organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to be flexible
