Description of Assignment
Auto 11/12 and Power Tech 9/10. Full-time, temporary (1 year contract which may be reposted for the 27/28 school year). Effective September 1st, 2026 to June 30th, 2027. This position will work out of the shops located at Columneetza Junior Secondary but will teach students from both Columneetza and Lake City Secondary.
Salary
The salary of this assignment is based on our current salary grid and upon verification of your BC TQS as well as verification of years of service from previous employers. The current salary range is $63, 347.00 to $116, 190.00 per annum, paid over 10 months.
Special Qualifications Required
- Hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate (Professional or Conditional).
- Legally eligible to work in Canada (this position does not qualify for LMIA supported job offers)
- Completion of a recognized technology education training program, inclusive of practicums sponsored by teachers who hold these qualifications
- Training and experience with ADST, specifically with Automotive and Power Tech
- Familiarity with the "Best Practices Guide" with BC Technology Education Association (BCTEA)
- Proven ability to ensure safe work practices are adhered to for all machinery and projects
- Letters of Permission may be considered with a minimum qualification of a red seal in automotive or equivalent

We also believe in providing Professional Development beyond the provisions of our collective agreement. The District has engaged in long term contracts with several (up to 6) educational leaders. Teachers can expect to see the educational leaders in our District, up to 2 days prior to a Professional Development Day, offering hands on coaching both in the classroom and in sessions (evening or during the Professional Development Day).
Our local teachers' union, the Cariboo Chilcotin Teachers' Association, also boasts strong collective agreement language regarding Professional Development as well as financial support for their members to engage in opportunities.
Relocation allowance may be offered with this position.
