CASUAL CROSSING GUARD
The Burnaby School District is looking to hire Casual Crossing Guards to work throughout the school district on an on-call basis.
You have an ability to build trust and respect with those under your care, and you model and reinforce proper behaviour and adherence to safety rules. This position is responsible for providing support for students arriving/departing from school.
Applicants must have:
· Grade 12 education
· Demonstrated ability and experience in working with children and/or adolescents
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Conflict resolution or non-violent crisis intervention training are assets
This position requires that you are physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and can stand/walk around for a one-hour shift. The ability to build successful relationships, influence behaviour, and avert or resolve conflict thanks to your experience either raising or working with children are also key traits required for this position.
