The successful candidate will be expected to be part of a collaborative teaching team within our Performing Fine Arts and English departments. This position will encompass Junior level Drama courses with the remainder of the full load to be determined based on the successful candidate’s experience as well as in consultation with the English Head of Department.

At STMC, we believe that both the Applied and Fine Arts are a meaningful part of student education, promoting creativity and self-expression while teaching patience and teamwork. Exposure to these arts expands the ability to look at issues from multiple perspectives and to invent solutions in unique ways.

STMC’s English courses are designed to help students develop into imaginative thinkers, powerful analysts, cogent writers, and informed citizens. By promoting fine writing, keen powers of analysis, and a true love of speaking, we allow students to explore the world of literature through their own experiences.

Preference will be given to applicants with previous secondary Drama and English teaching experience, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.

Potential candidates must be a member, or be in the process of becoming a member, of the British Columbia College of Teachers or hold a BC Independent School Teacher’s Certificate. Interviews will commence immediately and as such the posting will be open until the position is filled.
