FRENCH IMMERSION TEACHER
(1.0 TEMPORARY)
School District No. 42 (SD42) meets the learning needs of approximately 16,000 students of all ages in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, and is defined by its determination to keep student learning and growth at the heart of all its decisions. With an annual budget of over $200M and over 2,000 staff, the school district provides K-12 educational services in 22 elementary schools, six secondary schools, and two alternate schools. It also provides a variety of certificate programs and relevant quality life-long learning opportunities through Ridge Meadows College and Continuing Education.
SD42 is looking for a qualified Kindergarten/Grade 1 French Immersion Teacher for a 1.0 FTE Temporary position at Eric Langton Elementary School effective as soon as possible to February 14, 2024, or return of incumbent, then reducing to a .4 FTE or .6 FTE job share to June 30, 2024.
The applicant will possess:
- Certification with the Teacher Regulation Branch.
- Early Childhood Education training and experience and a clear understanding of the characteristics of the Kindergarten learner. Training, background and knowledge in the implementation of early literacy and early intervention programs.
- Must be proficient in French communication.
This is a 1.0 FTE Temporary assignment beginning as soon as possible.
