POSITION: Intermediate Teacher
ASSIGNMENT: French Immersion (Gr 4-5)
FTE: 1.0
LOCATION: École Red Bluff Lhtako
EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing September 1, 2023 and continuing
Basic Qualifications: A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following:
Training Specialization: Elementary Education with specialization in French Immersion at the intermediate level
Related Teaching Experience: Recent successful experience teaching French Immersion at the intermediate level
A Reasonable Expectation: based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff.
Additional Qualifications:
- Fluency in English/French - oral/written - applicant must be willing to take a language proficiency test - oral and written
Other:
- Willingness to work as part of a team in the development and implementation of the School Growth Plan
- Willingness to work as part of the school-based team
- Willingness to support whole school environmental initiatives
- Commitment to school-wide Positive Behaviour Support program as a form of addressing behaviour in the classroom and the school as a whole
- Proficiency in written and oral communication in French
- Willingness to have an interview in French with the District's French Language Coordinator
The starting annual salary for this full-time Intermediate Teacher, French Immersion (Gr 4-5) ranges from $59,394 to $106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
