SUMMARY

Reports to the Manager - Continuous Improvement and the Mechanical Manager and works under the direction of the Foreperson, Mechanical. Performs maintenance, repair, alteration, and installation tasks, including renovations and modifications. May perform minor elements of other trades.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful completing of a Secondary school graduation program or equivalent. Completion of post secondary B.C. Trades Qualification Certificate relevant to the specific trade - Plumbing.
  • May be required to hold one of the following additional tickets relevant to the trade: Valid Class "A" or "B" gas ticket, certification in backflow prevention testing, or a related ticket/certificate.
  • Minimum of 5 years recent experience working in the trade. Skill in the use of tools of the trade.
  • Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain a large variety of machinery.
  • Valid B.C. Driver's License. Safe driving record.
  • Physically capable of performing the duties of the position.
  • Good interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to use judgment when providing information.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a crew.
  • Current and thorough knowledge of related standards, practices, regulations, codes, and methods.
  • Knowledge of WCB and WHMIS regulations. Safe work habits.
  • Some positions may require the knowledge of a language other than English
