The following position is available for expressions of interest:

Senior School Mathematics Teacher

Brockton School is currently seeking a Senior School Mathematics Teacher. As part of the Senior School faculty and the Math Department, this individual will report to the Senior School Principal and will work with colleagues including but not limited to Department Chairs, IB Coordinators, and other key members of staff.

Qualifications:

BC Teacher Certification (Teachers Regulation Branch) in the form of a Certificate of Qualification (CoQ) or Independent School Teaching Certificate (ISTC)

Interest in being part of a dynamic and visionary IB school community

Post-secondary degree in mathematics and/or computer science

Ideal characteristics:

Experience in teaching (or proven ability to teach) Mathematics 8-10, Pre-Calculus 11 and Pre-calculus 12

Experience in teaching higher level math courses is an asset. Such courses might include, but are not limited to BC Calculus 12, AP Calculus, IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches SL/HL, and/or IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation SL/HL

3-5 years of successful teaching experience in the curricular field(s)

DP and MYP teaching experience or Advanced Placement experience is an asset

A love of collaboration and shared problem-solving

A passion for learning and an openness to feedback

Work collaboratively with Department Chairs and IB Programme Coordinators to understand and implement the requirements of the BC Ministry of Education and IB Programmes (MYP, DP, CP) - where applicable.

Embrace high standards of professional conduct and professional excellence; pursue best and innovative practice, embrace lifelong learning and personal/ professional growth

Communicate and respond appropriately and genuinely with students, parents, and other community members, respecting diverse needs and perspectives (including one’s own)

Actively, and with a positive mindset, support and work alongside colleagues in one’s individual and collective work, acknowledge that we are on a shared journey and that we are better together;, trust and be trustworthy
