We invite applications for the temporary position of:

  • 0.40 FTE Blended Learning Teacher, K-9 Inquiry and Project Based Learning
  • Heartwood Learning Community: located in Kaslo, BC - must be able to provide face to face instruction in location.
  • Please note that this temporary position is subject to enrollment
  • Please note this temporary position will begin as noted about or upon leave of the incumbent and will end on June 30, 2024 or upon return of the incumbent.

The successful candidate will have education, training, and experience in:

  • Standard First Aid is an asset, must have Basic First Aid
    Experiential, place-based learning

Navigate teachers guide successful learning by providing personalized, online learning courses using diverse instructional technology. Navigate teachers commit to working online and face-to-face with students, colleagues and parents. Teachers actively
research, develop and maintain advanced online curriculum and support blended learning instructions in classrooms, learning centres, and tutorials.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Ability to create and manage on-line courses, assignments, assessments, and resources incorporating current pedagogical frameworks (ie Inquiry, place-based, personalized).
  • Ability to work with and provide support for students online and in person
  • Ability to support students with course adaptations and I.E.P.s
  • Ability to utilize the following online tools:Brightspace (D2L), Seesaw, Zoom, GAFE, MyEd.
  • Experience and skills with online learning technology support, course design/development in Brightspace (D2L) and GAFE.
  • Experience and commitment toworking collaboratively as part of a teacher team advancing methods in curriculum integration and personalized learning.
  • Experience with Student Learning Plans and parent co-facilitation.
