Job Summary & Responsibilities

The starting annual salary for this full-time Middle School Teacher position ranges from $60,626 to $106,217, with placement on the July 1, 2023 Teacher Salary Grid based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

Education & Experience

  • Teacher training and practicum at the Intermediate/Middle level
  • Experience teaching at the Intermediate/Middle level
  • Must be able to demonstrate thorough knowledge of Middle school philosophy
  • Proven ability to implement middle school literacy strategies
  • Experience with using inquiry to guide instruction
  • Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum reports
  • Eligible for B.C. Certification

  • Assessment & Coaching: Utilize balanced assessment and feedback to improve student learning including the use of formative and summative assessment strategies.

  • Caring & Inclusiveness: Create and maintain an environment that is caring, inclusive and supportive of all students
  • Flexibility & Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility in the ability to adjust and adapt to changing circumstances
