School District 85 (Vancouver Island North) is seeking applications for a dynamic, energetic, and inspirational leader for the position of: Principal or Vice-Principal of Cheslakees Elementary School and Early Learning Centre , depending on qualifications and experience. The successful applicant will inspire by example, be able to build on the current strengths of the school and community, be visionary, passionate, and knowledgeable in all areas of the Early Learning Framework.
Cheslakees Elementary School is located in the beautiful, traditional territory of the Kwakwaka'wakw. Cheslakees Elementary values and prioritizes Indigenous education while fostering meaningful relationships with local Indigenous communities. Through partnerships with Indigenous Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community members, the school provides students with opportunities to learn about Indigenous cultures, languages, and histories, fostering reconciliation and promoting Indigenous ways of knowing and being.

The annual salary for a full-time Administrative position ranges from $123,353 $127,089 per year (subject to a further increase as of August 1, 2024) with comprehensive benefits and pension package.
