1.0 F.T.E. CONTINUING LANGUAGE TEACHER

A 1.0 F.T.E. Continuing Language Instructor is required effective September 1, 2024. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching Halq’emeylem to students in the Agassiz area.

The successful applicant must possess:

1. a valid B.C. Teaching Certificate or a Halq’emeylem language fluency sufficient for the Language Authority to recommend an Indigenous Language Teaching Certificate;
2. have adequate training and experience with Halq’emeylem Language;
3. have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
4. have knowledge and respect of Halq’emeylem Culture and Traditions;
5. have strong leadership skills;
6. display strong classroom management skills;
7. experience working with Indigenous Students, their families, and communities;
8. successfully pass a Criminal Record Check;
9. a valid B.C. Driver’s License and vehicle for travelling between schools/locations.

Salary: $59,711 - $110,318 depending on Category and Grid Level
