ASSIGNMENT: Learning Assistance (Gr 10-12)
FTE: 0.4286
LOCATION: Correlieu Secondary School
EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing October 15, 2025 until June 30, 2026
Basic Qualifications: A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following:
Training Specialization: Secondary Education with a major in Special Education
Related Teaching Experience: Recent successful experience as a Secondary School Special Education Teacher
A Reasonable Expectation: based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff.

Learning Assistance Teacher
A learning assistance teacher ideally has a major in Special Education. Specific experience and training in supporting neurodiverse students is desirable.
The candidate should be able to provide demonstrated experience and ability in the following:
The learning assistance teacher provides services to students and staff in the regular classroom as well as alternate environments and must be able to work in a collaborative and consultative manner with classroom teachers, principals, the school-based team, special education assistants, district staff and others.
The starting annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $61,175 to $109,520 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
