POSITION: Okanagan Language Teacher
APPOINTMENT: 1.0 FTE Temporary
START DATE: As Soon As Possible to June 30, 2024
Qualifications Required:
- First Nations Language Teaching Certificate in Okanagan Language (as recognized by the BC Teacher Regulation Branch);
- recent successful experience teaching Okanagan language;
- fluent in speaking and writing in Okanagan and English;
- ability to model, teach and foster social, emotional and cultural awareness;
- knowledge of current 21st century pedagogy and assessment practices;
- demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to the professional community at the school and district level;
- effective communication, interpersonal, organizational and classroom management skills;
- ability to integrate technologies and digital citizenship into educational programs; and
- must have the following: First Nations Language Teaching Certificate in Okanagan language and current eligibility for Teacher Qualification Service card.
