.6 CONT Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (Flexible days)
Position Description:
A strong advocator and subject matter expert in the Deaf Culture. Works with other members of a school and department to support students. Assists and trains others in the use of hearing aids, sound fields, FM and Roger equipment. Possess a valid BC Driver’s License and vehicle a travel throughout the district is required.
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in the education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing or certification by the Canadian Association of Educators of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CAEDHH)
• Experience and expertise in the use of hearing aids, sound fields, FM and Roger equipment
• Successful classroom experience, including knowledge and general understanding of the K–12 curriculum with knowledge of IEP process and the writing of goals/objectives, modifying and adapting curriculum as well as guiding and supporting transition plans, an asset
The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $58,635 to $106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
