POSITION: Resource Teacher - temporary
ASSIGNMENT: Resource (Gr 10-12)
FTE: 1.0
LOCATION: Correlieu Secondary School
EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing September 1, 2026 until January 31, 2027 or earlier depending the return of the incumbent with the possibility of extension and/or reduction in FTE.
Basic Qualifications: A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following:
Training Specialization: Secondary Education with a major in Special Education.
Related Teaching Experience: Recent successful experience as a Secondary School Special Education Teacher.
A Reasonable Expectation: based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff.

Resource Teacher
A resource teacher ideally has a major in Special Education. Specific training in supporting neurodiverse students is desirable.

The resource teacher provides services to students and staff in the regular classroom as well as alternate environments and must be able to work in a collaborative and consultative manner with classroom teachers, principals, the school-based team, special education assistants and others.
The annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $64,901 to $116,190 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
