THE ROLE
This is keyboarding, clerical and reception work of moderate complexity and some variety in performing duties in accordance with well-developed methods and procedures in which some independence of action and judgement is exercised in the more routine aspects of the work. Assignments are received orally and in writing and work performance is reviewed and evaluated by an administrator in terms of effective services rendered to the school.
WHAT WE REQUIRE
- Sound knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic.
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & Power Point) and software applications.
- Sound knowledge of the functions, rules, and regulations governing applicable departmental operations and activities.
- Sound knowledge of computer operation and the software applications necessary to maintain and produce a variety of materials.
- Working knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Ability to operate a computer and the software necessary to prepare, maintain and produce a variety of materials.
- Ability to compose routine correspondence and arrange formats for reports, tabulations, summaries, and related material.
- Ability to deal effectively with students, other employees, and the public in supplying assistance and information related to departmental operations.
- Ability to perform clerical assignments in accordance with prescribed methods and procedures
- Ability to operate a variety of general office equipment.
- Ability to administer basic first aid.
- Skill in keyboarding and the use of a computer and related peripherals.
- Superior clerical aptitude.
Completion of the 12th grade or equivalent plus basic first aid, including courses in keyboarding, computer and software applications and commerce subjects. Six months related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
