About us….
The Sooke School District is the fastest growing school district on Vancouver Island and one of the fastest growing districts in British Columbia and employs approximately 1,800 staff and has a student population of over 12,000. The District operates in five municipalities: Langford, Colwood, Metchosin, Sooke and the Highlands and acknowledges the nations on which our schools are built, including T’Sou-ke Nation, Sc'ianew Nation, Pacheedaht Nation, and all South Island Coast Salish Nations, specifically Esquimalt Nation and Songhees Nation. What you'll be doing...
Custodians play a vital role in our schools by assisting to create a safe and clean learning environment where all students can participate in learning activities and programs.

- A starting wage of $24.24 per hour
- Three (3) weeks’ vacation to start (based on the terms outlined in the current CUPE Local 459 Collective Agreement)

What you need to apply...
As a Custodian, we are looking for candidates that effectively communicate and collaborate, build relationships and support a welcoming and safe environment and have the following education and experience:
- Completion of secondary school and preferably completion of recognized Building Service Worker (BSW) Level 1 course
- Up to three (3) months cleaning experience or one-year experience in a related environment of cleaning
