Hours of Work: 40 hours/week - 12 month position
Location: Ashcroft, BC

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
The Carpenter, under the supervision of the Director of Facilities and the general direction of the Operations Foreman, provides carpentry services related to the construction, alteration and maintenance of buildings, fixtures and equipment. The successful applicant is expected to:
• Construct, alter, install and repair buildings, furnishings, equipment and other structures.
• May perform a variety of duties such as concrete laying, dry walling, floor covering, locksmithing, glass replacement, millwork and welding.
• Reads and interprets drawings and specifications.
• Maintains a variety of records and assists in the compilation of inspection dates.
• Operates and is responsible for assigned vehicles and power tools.
• May, on occasion, be required to perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• Travel to all district sites.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:
• Grade 12 or equivalent
• BC Trades Qualification or Inter-provincial Trades Qualifications
• Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license
• Related experience at journeyman level
• Physical capability to perform duties
• Must have WHMIS training
• Clear criminal record check prior to commencing employment
