Reporting to the Grounds Utility Foreperson, the Equipment Operator II is responsible for the safe operation of rubber tired, mobile construction and maintenance vehicles between 1800-5500 kilograms G.V.W., with all applicable attachments, and vehicles 16,000 kilograms G.V.W. and under.
Work largely involves sports field mowing with tractor and 16’ wide implement. Work also involves a variety of tasks and handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts and high-reaches to load, unload from trucks and store and retrieve materiel. The successful applicant will carry out and coordinate work of the following nature: Inspect and perform routine servicing and makes minor repairs and adjustments to equipment operated. Plan, organize and coordinate work to ensure the safe and efficient performance of equipment and tasks and may be required to perform the functions of a lower classification. Work involves physical labour, routine inspection, and record keeping.

This unionized position offers an attractive hourly wage of $24.91 plus benefits package: municipal pension, health, vacation & sick benefits. Effective date per collective agreement.
Applicants must have:
- A valid Class 5 Drivers License
- Three months' recent experience performing a variety of maintenance tasks utilizing light to medium mobile construction and maintenance equipment and vehicles, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
