We are currently searching for anticipatory Education Assistants: Behaviour Elementary, 26.25 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Locations are determined by the Student Services department and are subject to change. 
*Positions end June 29, 2022 or upon return of incumbent.
*The current rate of pay is $25.76 per hour plus 15.5% in lieu of benefits.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 12 education supplemented by Human Services Worker Program certificate and courses in behaviour strategies such as Behaviour Management, Understanding Students with Challenging Behaviours (Behaviour Disorders in Schools); valid Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification is required; recent experience with behaviour intervention programs is preferred; valid Class 5 B.C. driver's license and license appropriate to the type of equipment/vehicle being operated and a personal vehicle available for use on the job is preferred; ability to work effectively with staff and students; willingness to work in an inclusionary setting on an itinerant basis; meets the physical requirements of the position; ability to work independently and as a member of a team; excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Duties are performed under the supervision of the school Principal, Vice Principal and the Director of Student Services or designate; follows the guidance and leadership of the behaviour resource teacher, learning support teacher and classroom teacher; provides support to individual or small groups of students with extreme behavioural challenges as per TheManual of Policies, Procedures and Guidelines (Behaviour Disorders, Section E.5); carries out personal and health care routines as directed; duties may be at the classroom level or across multiple classroom settings on an itinerant basis; provides information to school based team, other itinerant staff or relevant agency personnel as requested by School/Program Leaders; participates in student observation, data collection and implementation of the individual education and behaviour plans; assists students in off-site program activities as required; follows proper work procedures, observes all regulations pertinent to the work, maintains a good working relationship with other employees, and cooperates in maintaining a healthy learning and working environment; performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor; student supervision as required by the Principal or Vice Principal.
