Position Description
A temporary full time (1.0) Intermediate Teacher is required by School District No. 60 (Peace River North) effective immediately until June 30, 2022. The assignment will be at Duncan Cran Elementary School.
Duncan
Cran Elementary School is a K-6 school located in the City of Fort St
John. We have a population of 320 students. 30% of or students have Indigenous ancestry. Our school enjoys itinerant access to a range
of services. Our grade six students are part of a Curriculum With Technology (CWT) Program where each

Qualifications and Experience
- Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligible for)
- Experience with adapting and modifying curriculum to meet the needs of students
- Certification and experience at the Intermediate Level
- Experience with integrated technology and curriculum including Smartboards and computer use in the classroom
- Ability to integrate technology into the curriculum (experience with CWT)
- Teaching various areas of the curriculum including Numeracy, Literacy and Social Responsibility
- Experience teaching self-regulation strategies
- Experience in effective team teaching, in collaborative teaching environments
- Committed to ongoing professional development
- Experience and skill working with behavioral challenged students
- Experience planning with Teachers and Education Assistants
- Cognizant of the learning outcomes and evaluation processes outlined in the new curriculum
- Supportive of school planning and direction
- Committed to professional development
- Ability/desire to work collaboratively with students, staff and parents
- Familiar with or willing to become familiar with Performance Standards
- Experience/working
knowledge of Balanced Literacy , Literacy Place, Assessment for
Learning,Differentiated Instruction, Math Makes Sense, Criterion
Referenced Performance based assessment, Guided Reading, Power of
Ten and Literacy in Action
- Ability to differentiate instruction and support varying learning needs

- Three (3) references
- Verification of qualifications (BC Teacher Certificate)
Compensation
- $2000 relocation allowance for teachers from BC, AB and Yukon and up to $4000 for teachers from other areas
- $2,674 recruitment allowance (paid over 10 months of the school year, based on the FTE)
- Salary as per collective agreement. Current salary grid is $54,410- $97,815
- Benefits as per collective agreement with option to enroll in medical, dental, extended health, and group life insurance. Benefits are employer paid based on FTE
