Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Duties are performed under the supervision of the school Principal, Vice Principal and the Principal of Inclusive Education or designate; follows the guidance and leadership of the district support teacher, learning support teacher and classroom teacher; provides support to individual students or small groups of students across multiple settings at the secondary level; provides curriculum support to students in elective classes such as shop, cooking, physical education, etc.; provides support for classroom instruction, activities of daily living, and behaviour support for students in accordance with the individual education plan; carries out personal and health care routines as directed; provides information to school based team, itinerant staff or relevant agency personnel as requested by School/Program Leaders.; facilitates inclusion of students with special needs into class and school activities; assists students in off-site program activities as required; participates in student observations, data collection and the implementation of the individual education and behaviour plans; follows proper work procedures, observes all regulations pertinent to the work, maintains a good working relationship with other employees, and cooperates in maintaining a healthy learning and working environment; performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor; student supervision as required by the Principal or Vice Principal.
