Indigenous Educational Student and Family Advocate

The Greater Victoria School District provides public educational services to over 20,000 students in the Greater Victoria Area, encompassing six municipalities.  To provide this service, the District has a current operating budget of $208 million and employs approximately 3,500 staff; which includes, teachers, administrators, support staff, psychologists, speech and language pathologists and exempt managerial staff.

The Indigenous Student and Family Advocate will advocate and provide cultural and holistic support, resources and initiatives for Indigenous students in our schools, Nations and communities. They will collaborate with schools on initiatives that seek to build culturally supportive relationships and provide access to resources in order to promote understanding of Indigenous history.

 Qualifications and Experience:

Preference will be given to applicants of Indigenous ancestry.

Please Note:  As this position is itinerant, the successful applicant must have a car and a valid BC driver’s license.
