Teaching at an IB School, the successful candidate will be supporting direct and indirect learners in a collaborative model with two other ELL teachers, classroom teachers, educational assistants, and members of the Extended School Based Resource Team. This assignment may have a schedule which includes short blocks of time over multiple days.

  • Displays social-emotional competencies of self-awareness, empathy, flexibility, relationship-building and responsible decision-making.
  • Within a collaborative environment, develop a comprehensive understanding of curriculum with the ability to influence instruction, assessment, indigenous education and social-emotional learning practices.
  • Ability to implement effective strategies to engage and support academic success for all learners in an inclusive environment
  • Experience in designing and applying various assessment techniques to measure and monitor student progress.
  • Committed to professional development with a desire to learn and implement new methodologies and strategies to provide a creative, engaged, and inclusive classroom experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply relevant computer technologies to teaching and learning.
  • Collaborates with students, parents and staff to enhance the school as a learning community.


  • A Bachelor of Education Degree (Elementary, specializing in primary)
  • A valid BC Teaching certificate or eligibility for certification through the BC Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB)
    • Successful experience teaching at the K-12 level.
    • TESL certificate or TESL diplome or similar coursework.
    • Successful experience working with ELL students of variouls levels ( Grades K-7), completing AEPs and ELL Reports.
